Director's Welcome
Dr. Spencer performs research in the area of
biomaterials, with a particular focus on understanding the
fundamental phenomena controlling biological interactions at
material interfaces, and the development of non-destructive
techniques for analyzing solid-liquid interfacial interactions
in biological systems. Her work serves as a catalyst for
collaborative investigations focused on applying the principles
of biological systems to the design, synthesis and development
of new materials.
The bioengineering program at the University of Kansas School of
Engineering (KUSoE) provides an exciting intellectual environment
for a graduate student. We consider our students to be our greatest
asset, and working with them to achieve joint success under our
mission is our greatest accomplishment. We are committed to the
training of outstanding interdisciplinary professionals, who are
equipped with skills and a philosophy to provide twenty-first
century leadership in bioengineering. We invite you to examine the
sections on our website in detail. Should you have any questions,
feel free to contact us.
